Der Mythos des Work-Life-Balance

Many companies are still focusing on: "It is important that our employees can live a work-life balance". In my eyes it is a myth that there is such a thing: Please chill out during the lunch break. Do yoga, meet nice people. But after that: please go back to your closet and then please be productive again. This means that the flow must first be switched on and then switched off again very quickly. The truth is: Your creative time, which you experience in your personal flow, is rarely paid for by companies. Because if we are honest, we will only get creative when we let all the "to dos" rest. I always felt like this: I believe in mindfulness. I really do. And so it was an inner urge to really get the work-life balance! When I was out of the office - it was over! So I said to myself. But how was it really? When I arrived at my swing in my garden at home in the garden and let the afternoon sun shine on me on a beautiful summer day, it took about 15 minutes to get there: I had to go inside and get my writing pad. Because while I was rocking there, I had a thousand ideas again. Plans, new concepts. When I found my favorite place, I was free. And then my brain was free too. And then suddenly something new could arise. My work-life didn't have to be separated, and that was a good thing. But what would have been if I had announced to superiors: I really don't come to the office as often anymore, but deliberately work NOTHING. Dear boss: Tomorrow I will enjoy my day and let me pay for it. Can people understand that who are busy busy? Incidentally, I was exactly the same: as soon as I was in the office, I was busy busy. One of my colleagues always made fun of me in a friendly way because she hardly knew a person who was so focused on the matter at all times and didn't notice anything left and right. So - can those people who still look at the office as if it is important to "show up often" understand that it would be better for productivity if I plan to do NOTHING? Hardly likely. And there is the fallacy behind the home office. Home office probably still means working at home and taking as little break as possible. But that will no longer lead to success in the future. Companies will only be attractive and successful if they have employees who absolutely do not have to come to the office if they do not have to. Employees who are not constrained to be productive. Many companies today offer a lot. But in my eyes, they haven't really understood that freedom and that productivity is directly related to real leisure time. In the future, I think people will go to co-working spaces near their favorite place or outside, where they will work on projects with people, either live or virtual. No annual plans. No fixed teams. I believe and hope that at some point it will no longer be necessary for us to clog all streets because we all think we have to commute for hours to "show ourselves in the office". And for those who still want it, as @Mario Herger has been preaching for years, there are the “Robo Taxis”. Companies in the future need people who do yoga when it fits well. And not just during the lunch break. # work-life-balance # life-design Interested to learn more about what you could change? When exactly are you really in the flow?
